Eye it down and throw another: The Game of Life

Eye it down and throw another pitch. Are you familiar with the phrase...?
I've always hated watching baseball on the TV, can't stand it. But I will never pass on an opportunity to go down to the good ole' Chavez Ravine and watch a Dodgers game. Heck Ill go watch any team play live for that matter. The reason being, I'm a firm believer that every life lesson, big or small can be learned from the game of baseball. Any pitcher, seasoned or rookie will at one point throw an off, wild or just completely crappy pitch and for a split second, just that very second he stops to think, "Whats happening to me?" Then in HIS mind he looks over at the Manager and out of the corner of his eye sees him pick up the phone, calling up the second best replacement from the bullpen, the people then get up and start walking out, when really they're probably just going for another beer or DodgerDog, and suddenly his ERA went up two points, from then on out he is a total headcase. Its all what he imagined he saw. He thought his way out of the game.
The best pitchers let the split second be just that, a split second. They ignore that one pitch and then eye down the next pitch and then let her rip.
So it is in life. We need to let the split second, be a split second. Let the bad times come, breathe them out and throw another. If you throw a bad pitch, don't think your way out of the game, don't dwell on the pitch, don't think that the one pitch will turn to another, and another and another. EYE DOWN YOUR NEXT PITCH, AND THROW ANOTHER ONE! That's all you can do. If any of you know anything about baseball...then you know that there's just no room for headcases in the game.

Be prepared for my next lessons from baseball series, we'll be talking about the Dodgers winning the pennant. hahaha
